Elizabeth City Downtown, Inc. (ECDI) is excited to present the 2023 North Carolina Potato Festival honoring one of our area’s largest crops – the potato!  The festival will be held May 19, 20, and 21 in downtown. This year’s theme is in honor of the Health Care. Our mascot are Health Care Providers.

 

A N.C. Potato Festival sponsorship is an investment in downtown Elizabeth City.  It’s our primary fundraising event that helps pay for efforts to beautify and revitalize downtown through projects, economic development efforts, façade grants for small businesses, and MANY community activities. 

 

A primary focus of ECDI is economic development downtown. We hope you have noticed the great progress happening over the last few years in downtown...

• Private investment in and improvements to long-vacant downtown properties -- Weatherly Lofts, Ghost Harbor Brewing Company, Seven Sounds Brewing Company, The Market, Harbor Pharmacy, Harbor Centre, Virginia Dare Arcade, 2 Souls Wine Bar, and so many more.

• Public Investment and Projects -- Wayfinding Signage Project, EC-PC Senior Center, Veteran's Park, Coast Guard Park, Linear Parks on Elizabeth Street, the new Martin Luther King Educational Boardwalk at Charles Creek Park, improvements to Moth Boat Park, Dog Corner Park and Fish Court Park, completion of Elizabeth Street roadway improvements, Waterfront Development Plan...

• Community Spaces -- Historic Pailin's Alley, Ives' Alley, Fowler Alley Community Space 

• Major projects in the works -- BetsyTown Flats (former ECMS renovation), Restoration of Fearing Street Properties; Renovation/restoration of Kramer Building 

• Public Art throughout downtown -- Downtown EC went from one Coca-Cola mural and a couple of very important historical markers to 20 unique pieces and places of public art -- from murals, to metal sculptures, to string art, wooden candy benches, and even stone and gem work.

• So many new businesses coming to downtown and/or expansions

 

With a Potato Festival sponsorship, you get the super exposure to over 30,000 people during the 3-day FREE event, as well as a ton of pre-exposure on mailings and pre-promotional materials (at certain sponsorship levels). The sooner you say "Yes" the more exposure opportunities you have. 
 

What else does your investment support? Nearly 50% of the ECDI budget is spent on activities in downtown for our community.  All of these activities are FREE for everyone to attend.

We fund grants, beautification and cleanup projects, holiday decorations, hanging planters and plants, benches, trash cans, and the transformation of community spaces  We also provide guidance and assistance for new and existing business owners and connect businesses to additional resources.

Any sponsorship at the $3,000 level or higher is also considered an ECDI Premiere Sponsors and includes exposure at all ECDI events throughout the year and on ECDI’s website.
